THE PLAY
“Poetrees and Other Verses From Nature”
Swinging on trees. Laying in the grass. Gazing up at stars.
Expressed in a tapestry of poetry styles, this beautiful new play celebrates children’s experiences of the one thing we all share—the earth. From tickle your ribs funny, to heartbreakingly sad, young people use imagery from trees and nature to craft poems about what they encounter in the out of doors and in their lives. Penned by kids from a variety of different cultural, geographic and experiential backgrounds, Poetrees and Other Verses from Nature is an ever flowing stream of joyous youthful expression. It will inspire audiences to write, and to look at the earth with a renewed sense of wonder.
